Calling All Volunteers!

Why volunteer with The Nashville Connection – Heroes Salute?

1. Support our veterans!

We owe so much to the men and women who have served our country and sacrificed so much to allow us the freedom we take for granted every day. One way to give back in a small way is to donate your time to help make this event successful. Proceeds from this event will benefit Vietnam Veterans and other veteran programs. Click here for more information on who we support.

2. Rub shoulders with Nashville music professionals!

We have music professionals from Nashville who are performing, teaching workshops, and assisting us with this year’s event. You never know who you’ll run into!

3. Free entrance to our Heroes Salute Gala!

At the gala, we honor our veterans and enjoy a great concert performed by country music star Darryl Worley, among others, in an intimate setting at the TD Convention Center. We will also have an auction, reception and star walk in conjunction with the gala.

4. Check out The Traveling Vietnam WALL!

The American Veterans Traveling Tribute travels the USA with the Cost of Freedom Tribute to provide a forum for the members of the community to come together to Honor-Respect-Remember all those whom we have asked to stand in harm’s way to protect and defend our great country and freedom as our way of life. This memorial will be on display at the TD Convention Center from June 28-30.

5. Support Gold Star Moms and families in other countries!

Proceeds from this event will benefit FUTURE’s “Hugs for Healing” program which helps Gold Star mothers who have lost their children to the war through the healing process.  This program also teaches women in other countries an organizational model, based on volunteerism, that promotes self-reliance, networking, and unity of the family. This program facilitates communication, nation building, healing, and reconciliation for the next generation.

Internship Opportunity

  • Event Dates: June 27-30, 2012
  • Internship Dates: May-June 2012 (must be available June 27-30)

The event is a fundraiser for non-profits to raise funds for Vietnam Veterans.  This is a non-paid internship, but a stipend may be provided at the end of the internship (July 1st).  The producer has many contacts from Nashville and Washington, DC and this internship would be a great opportunity for someone who can commit to serving for this event and would like to gain contacts and grow their network. Last year, our graphic design intern successfully secured a full time job with one of the ad agencies we worked with for the Nashville Connection and is currently one of their lead designers.  There are so many opportunities that could be given to the students who apply for this internship.
